When I started I couldn’t find any logs and didn’t want to spend alot of money on blanks to destroy ( Cathy calls it wasting wood). I had some 4×6 chunks left over from the deck. I figured its wood so chuck it up. Here it is my verry first bowl.

You did well for your first bowl. Is that pine? Keep it up.

pine can be a pain to turn because it is so soft… usually if I turn pine, I end up catching and blowing out my dovetail.

Very pretty, I like how the rain runs in it.

VERY impressive! My first bowl (or a few of my first bowls I should say) turned out to be nothing but shavings.

I call this my first it is the first that didn’t end up on the floor as shavings or in pieces. And yes this is pine the end of a 4×6 beam.
