More picture frames – this time for wrapped canvas.
I used cedar for the dark frame, two layers of board – one 2” and one 3” glued together to provide the shadow gap. I found it much easier to cut the approximate lengths then glue up rather than trying to glue the whole 8ft lengths in one go. Finished with walnut stain and poly.
The zebra is a large frame, about 3.5ft square, with cedar on top and pine on the bottom layer. I found the pine made the frame a lot more sturdy and in my mind cheaper but actually the pine cost more than the cedar! I then created a rabbet and inset some 1/4” ply. It’s hung using a french cleat.

I like the looks of the canvas being inset, nice work.
