Project Information

I've spent some time overhauling my garage shop and thought I'd share…

The lumber rack is new, and I've finally found a home for all the other wood I had around the shop. It's stashed under the large workbench at the rear of the shop, and under the outfeed table for the tablesaw.

The "drawing" table in one of the photos is actually a light table with a plywood top hinged so I can still use the light table for various projects.

It's been fun to get things cleaned up and a little organized.

Lastly, I decided to throw in my "homage" to a certain retired woodworker we all know.

I can't put my finger on one particular thing, but … just something about your shop … makes me absolutely love it.

The older, rich woods, the (apparently) fact that it's NOT totally lit by fluorescents (???), ... something … I dunno….

Really, really well done, though! Just a great work space!

So glad you shared. Seriously!

Nice looking shop. I always like to see a neat organized shop. Wish I had a bigger shop but one has to work with what he has. I do have a shed out side the back door for off fall, jigs and misc. I store my lumber in the basement which helps. Thanks for posting.

God Bless

Doug, I love everything about your shop. I could easily come in to the shop, find whatever I needed, and begin building. Excellent layout and well stocked. When is "open house"?

Nice shop Doug. If you don't mind a question, how did you attach the 2×4s to the verticle on your new wood rack?

Best,

That's a great shop; there's nothing short about that shop at all. Overall, you get an A+ from me.
