Simple set of black frames for a few shuttle pictures I had lying around from a local photographer. The frames were made of poplar and given a few basic round overs. I was trying to match some similar photos and frames I have from earlier NASA programs.
Miter cuts were done on my picture frame sled http://lumberjocks.com/projects/28019 They turned out pretty good, but the sled will need further adjustment and tuning.
Conditioned the wood with Minwax soft wood conditioner, then 4 coats of the Minwax one step poly and stain in their gloss black. In between coats I rubbed down the high spots with 0000 steel wool. What a difference that made, I wish I had tried that years ago. Steel wool is my new best friend!
Nothing fancy, but they look good on the wall.

Lovely! Frames are just the right width and the photos are great! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Keep track of all your fingers!
