Turned this out this morning from a piece of Avacado wood that was being sold as Firewood…

Finish is BLO and Friction Polish

measures about 4” in diameter.

fantastic. love the grain on this.. Since I’ve started turning its funny how you start noticing when trees are cut down and nicely sectioned.. I swear one time I’m going to stop and ask if I can take a section and make a couple of bowls – 1 for myself, and 1 to return to the owner of the tree as a surprise.

I don’t do any turning but I love working with Avacado wood on small projects … this is a beautiful piece

While we don’t have any Avacado here in Maryland, I am amazed how much it resembles Walnut! Very nice wood to look at and a great turning as well!
