I made a table a while back with legs made from white oak. I laminated some 6/4 I had because I couldn’t find a source of 12/4, and I made them a bit overlong in case the lamination wasn’t perfect (usually its the ends that give me trouble).

Well it ended up going pretty well, so I wound up with a couple of really nice off cuts about 6” long. Perfect for mallet heads!

I have made two of these, and I think I have enough to do one more. Sold the first one on etsy for $25! That was my first ever etsy sale, and I was pretty excited to have made $25 by using up some scrap.

The handle is ash, and it is friction it into a tapered hole through the head. I contoured it with a spokeshave, and the whole thing was given a few coats of boiled linseed oil.

Very nice Jeremymcon
As I was persuading some pieces together with a claw hammer and blocks of wood the other night I was thinking I need to make a wooden mallet

Thor comes to mind. Great looking addition to the shop
