Flame for my wife

Okay, here is a Christmas present for my wonderful wife, I gave her the Plate and told her she would have to wait for me to finish it until I found the right piece of wood for the pedestal. Well it was 3 pieces, one more box elder for the flame finial, and 2 pieces of Black walnut. I watched the youtube video of Charles Neil showing how to make a flame finial, and that was the inspiration and instruction I needed to finish this off. ( thanks Charles). For the most part I followed his instructions, but I veered off a little to make the top of it. I also didn’t use rasps and files, mostly a dremel with a sanding drum on it, and a lot of hand sanding. Finished with a little mineral oil, and some blonde shellac.
My wife loves it. And I love her.
