looks fantastic, what did you use for finish? I was looking at some pics of my bed right after I completed it (also requested by my wife- 10 yrs ago) and its amazing how cherry darkens so nicely over time.

thanks for the remarks.
I used teak oil on the bed. I like to stick to the oils, and let the wood change over time.

Looks awesome – like the lines a lot!
The side stringers – are those solid cherry? Is there a different species inside? Just curious, hard to tell in the pictures.

Good eye, I glued ash to the inside. From the top it appears that the stringer is solid Cherry. The stringers are 12 inches wide, and I didn’t want to waste that much cherry wood that no one would ever see.
