Yeah these are really really simple but you have to start somewhere.

I do instrument repair/luthiery for a living and gouges are especially useful to me for making cleats (to repair cracks) repairing nicks and dings in guitar bodies, and many other jobs that are too varied to list. This isn’t a new thing at all and it’s been done many times before, but it was fun and since I only have 2 gouges at the moment it was worth the effort to protect the nicely honed edges.

I even took a stab at a tutorial on making these (since I couldn’t find one on youtube).

Anyways, fun little project, if you have alot of these types of tools (and I’m sure some of you guys do) it won’t be something you’d necessarily want to do but if you only have a few like me it might be fun.
