This is just a simple little lift lid keepsake box for a gift.
This was made in the style popularized by Doug Stowe.
Box bottom is white ash with walnut keys and top is solid walnut. Top is rabbited into the bottom and held in place with two rare earth magnets inlet into the top and bottom. Makes a very satisfying “click” and jumps together when closed but is easy to open.
Finish is just lacquer with some wax.

Richard, Doug Stow would be pleased with your box. The magnets are a good addition to the design. The woods contrast nicely and the finish brings out the wood grains well. Interesting angle on the splines. Thanks for sharing this with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.

The magnets are indeed a great addition to this type of lid. Well executed!

HI Great work! Do you mind telling me more about your branding? Was it burnt, etched etc. I’m looking at branding my work and are gathering info to assist with this. Thank you
