I got a new Miter Saw and needed a stand for it. I didn’t want to build a large miter saw station but did want extension wing for stock support. I was looking online for a minimal stand to build when I saw a contractor who was using a workmate as a stand. I had an old workmate folded up in the corner so I decided to use it. I built a top to raise the saw to a comfortable height.

The top is bolted to the workmate:

The saw is bolted to the top.

I’ll eventually make 2 drawers for the top.

The extension wing is 12” x 48”, 1/2” ply with oak banding and is bolted to the top.

I used electrical conduit for the extension leg.

Thanks for looking.

I plan to build another extension for the right hand side.

Elegant and economical. You’re the second post I’ve seen that made great use of a workmate.

Looks good. And that new Bosch isn’t too shabby either!

Thanks – the saw is amazing – I’m glad I finally got it.
