Thought it would be helpful to have a stand for my phone on my desk at work. Came up with this. All done by hand.

It is adjustable in that it can display the phone at two different angles.

Tiger maple from scraps in the shop.

The notch in the front is positioned to allow the charging cable to attach while the phone is on the stand.

I wanted to take a photo with the phone on the stand but that was kind of hard when I needed to use the phone to take the photo.

3/16” thick

3”x5 1/4”

7 degree bevel

Good work … love that maple! My current project is with Ambrosia maple. Some of the pieces have a curl to them … I hope they turn out this pronounced once finished!

Nice little project redtail. That Tiger Maple sure looks nice! Good job!

I might work if you set you phone on the stand in front of a mirror and snap the photo. Just a thought!

redtail, that’s a cool phone stand. Love seeing it. It brings back memories from many years ago. I have a friend that used the same design to build portable chairs from 2×12s. He would rout the edges, carve on them, and put leather handles on them. We used to use them to see the free concerts on the riverbank down in Austin, Texas in the late 70s & early 80s.

Devann, I made a few of those chairs back in the ‘80s. Pretty heavy to lug around.

Woodshaver, No mirror here at work. Good thought thougj.

Great choice of wood. Simple yet effective.

The form follows the function. Simple, direct, no wasted movement or material. Great job. I like to design the same way.

Nicely done. Can you post some pics of it taken apart?

Here you go. Notice the bevel angle on the base cutout back edge matches the face plate cutout angle.
