So I veneered a piece of pine with oak laminate, as I find that hardwood gives more intricate details. The edges are mahogany and I finished it with Danish oil and spray clear coat.

When I do these, I cut out the figure I want to use then toss the “extras” into a box. This is a great way to put the unused figures to use!
I like how you veneer the pattern wood onto pine, great way to try out different species.
