This is a sign made for my sisters boyfriend. He asked me to do this as a gift to my sister because the number 143 is their little special code for I Love You. 1 letter in I, 4 letters in Love, and 3 letters in You. The letters were cut by a bandsaw using numbers I printed from my computer. Believe me, I could not do this freehand! I only stained the face of the numbers and left the rest alone. I like the contrast it created when the think grain of Pine showed through.

Thank you for looking!

Very cool. I’m going to have to try this at some point. I’ll have to come up with a number though!

A bit of history,

Minot’s Ledge lighthouse, Cohasset, Massachusetts, built in 1850 is 1 mile off the coast on a 25 foot ledge – visible only at low tide. The first structure could only be built during low tide and took three years to complete. Despite pleas from the keepers to strengthen the tower, nothing was done and the lighthouse was totally destroyed the following year in a storm. The next tower was finished in 1860. The one, four, and three light signal has earned it the nickname “The I Love You light” or “Lovers Light”.

Coincidentally it is being surplussed

could you tell me the font and what size the numbers were when you printed them. I am trying to figure out some house numbers and I really like the way yours look.

Hello sgtq, I dug through my files on my computer to see what font that was, but unfortunately I have misplaced the file I used to create this. All I did was open Word and went through the font list until I found one I liked. I really wish I could remember to help you out. Good luck!
