I just used a basic homemade box joint jig for the joinery. I finished it with Danish oil and spray clear coat, after I sanded it to 600 grit, of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH1wFVv5IDA

Nice work, I have been contemplating making a basic jig for box joints to see how I like doing them.
