So I had a bunch of cedar logs that I had cut down into bowl blanks (I mostly do turning). I turned about as much as I could and decided to save the last few for something different. So I put them on the bandsaw and cut them down into small planks. trimmed them down a little on the tablesaw, then planed them square and brought them back to the tablesaw for final ripping.

I had this lamp idea in my head for a few months and thought this wood was perfect.

The lights are LED strips from Amazon (really cheap and easy to use). I have a remote that I can plug into it if needed, but I light the plain old toggle switch on the base.

I had almost everything on hand. I just had to buy some nuts/bolts and the toggle switch. The wire i used is really old so I’ve ordered some new stuff to replace it.

Finished it with polyurethane.

Nice idea, and color of the wood is great.
