My wife wanted one of these to hold her spools of thread that are too big to fit in the designated thread holder on her sewing machine. I used some scraps from my scrap box (Hickory and Osage Orange) and threw this together. I have no idea how to orient the “hook” thing, so I put options for the spool holder to stick to 3 different sides of the hook with magnets. The hook is a piece of bent steel rod painted white. The magnets are epoxied in place, and then the epoxy sanded flush. Finished with a couple coats of Danish oil.

Thanks for the idea.

I showed it to the boss to ask if she’d like one. She said: “No. Make 2”.

Glad it could be an inspiration!
