Well I pushed the window and doubled the Czech Knot design. Its not perfect but maybe next time. Sometimes mistakes opens the door to new idea’s.
The outside diamonds within the walnut border came from bvdon, the woodwhisperer. Thanks
The outside diamonds started with a 6 inch wide walnut board grooved on a router table using a 90 degree pointed tip on two sides. I then 45 degree cut a hickory board edge and dropped it into the groove. I clamped another 6 inch wide board over the strips for a fast glue up. Following up plane the inlays smooth to walnut board.
The 4 boards shown are the first one from the left june 2014, next two last week , and the present one.
Also showing the simple glue up method for cutting boards. Stand the hand screw clamps up, glue boards one at a time and drop in. Let the pipe clamps do the rest of the work . A spacer block the same thickness as board help to set up the clamps and use tape on the inside of clamps to keep from sticking to work.

Very nice. I have to admit that I needed to read your instructions a few times before I figured out what you were saying. I think I have it now though. Thanks for the post.
