My dad bought this painted rock for my step mom while we were on vacation. He wasn’t sure how to frame it so I took it home, thought about it, then came up with this. It is a frame that holds the rock without impeding light from shining through and without blocking the beautiful painting.
The frame is made of Brazilian rosewood (it was in the “unidentified” category at my wood store, but I’m about 90% sure that’s what it is) and the holders are hard maple.
It is finished with a polyurethane/boiled linseed oil wipe on finish topped with a semi-gloss spar urethane.
Thanks for looking and God bless!
Matt
