Just made this the other day for a bit of fun with my friend.
He had some spare guitar bits, neck, bridge, pots etc. and I had this old chisel box hanging about so we came up with this.
We used construction like a cigar box guitar we had seen online.
Basically the neck is bolted on to a chunky piece of wood we had hanging about. Cut the box to fit over the neck and cut holes for the strings to go through and the pickup to sit in the right place. Just make sure the distance from the nut to the bridge is right. Assembled all the bits, screwed the bridge on and wired in all the electrics, strung it up and away we go.
It sounds pretty cool actually and only cost the price of the strings and an afternoons work.

Nice idea, great use of unused things.
If your chisels are around when you play the guitar, I’m afraid they will be dancing….LOL

Awesome! I just picked up a couple of cigar boxes today with the same intention.
