I finished my Moxon vise. I chose to make it with moving rods as I think the stationary rods would be in the way. Also, with moving rods the open capacity can be greater for drawers and the like. The wood is ash and red oak I had left from other projects.
I used four one inch brass bushings and two clamping collars to support the acme rods and act as a garter. The hand wheels came from Grizzly.
I intend to get some hold downs and drill holes for them to clamp the work to the top but right now I am moving on to my my work bench.
