Project Information

This Christmas gift started when my sawyer said, "Hey look! This piece of walnut is kinda shaped like Nebraska." I said, "I'll take it." My Father-in-Law is a Husker nut, so I came up with something he could hang in his office.

The "N" was created by routing out the waste freehand with a 1/8" bit. Then I chiseled to the line, and carved a textured surface below. The outline is thin strips of bloodwood installed with hide glue. The Lincoln star is black epoxy.

Finished with shellac. I bet he'll like it. It's certainly one of a kind.

Merry Christmas,

Rojo.

It will mean something to him that you spent the time to make something important to him. Very nice.

It has this Husker nut's stamp of approval, so if FIL doesn't like it, you can send it my way. Great job, Rojo.

Very Nice! Being from Omaha and still a Husker fan but living in Colorado, I would love to have received that as a gift!
The star for Lincoln is also a nice touch!
