New works sent off to the gallery 12/15. It will be fun to see what they do with them. #1 & 2 views of 6×3 magnolia dyed dark Navy and Hunter green with alcohol based aniline dyes and a ring of Azurite stones added for fun. Pics # 3-4-5 are of a live oak burl 5+x11+ with Carnelian, Rose Quartz, and small emerald chips added along with bronze accents just for the hell of it. #5 is a 5×8 aromatic cedar with natural top and Silver and amethyst accents…the old man is having fun… Happy holidays to all !
Don Schneider Porchfish Studio, Havana Florida…. PS I saw this clever fellow on You-tube named Carl, using a wax and linseed oil lubricant on sanding material to cut down dust and speed the hand sanding process. I find it a fantastic way to sand semi-precious stone inlays and powdered metal added to bowls. When power discs get loaded up, I use a bronze wire brush lightly to loosen material loaded on the discs and then add the oil/wax concoction to the loaded disc…the debris floats to the surface and can be wiped clean with an oil soaked rag….instead of getting 1 bowl out of 3 heavy discs, I now get 3 bowls per single disc. You fellas might have known about this all along, but it just shows to go you that even an old dog like me can learn new tricks. Goodpn’ya…..Don S.

Nice work Don, the gallery should be pleased, shouldn’t have to wait too long for a cheque :-)

These are beautiful bowls. Love the live edge. Thanks for the tip with the wax and linseed oil. I will have to give it a try.
