Did you flip every other board, and use some hot sand for shading?
This is a very impressive box.

The top is flat. It’s made of a number of pieces of veneer cut into a pattern and shaded in the areas that you would expect to see shadows so that you see a waving flag and not a flat top.

That is an incredible top. Makes you want to touch it…which I believe is the greatest sign of accomplishment. Thank you for sharing this….right into favorites.

Awesome, I can’t stop looking at that thing. I’d love to see the proccess of that. Superb shading job. I don’t think i can even make one like that on photoshop. How many hours total? I bet a lot of people would read a blog about that.
A+ on design. is that walnut wrapping it? I bet most people dont even look at that wood…lol nice joinery also
