This was a project we made to display in the Colorado Forest Products Booth at the Log Home Show in Denver several years ago. It is made from Lodgepole pine we milled with our bandsaw mill. The top back piece is made of seven pieces so we could stain the wood behind the buffalo cutout white before assembling the other back pieces. Another reason for the extra effort was to have the wood grain run down like the hair you might actually see on a buffalo rather than across from nose to tail. The rest of the pieces got a mahogany stain to give contrast. The seat is hinged with a storage compartment. The chair is our own design. The buffalo cut-out was done with a scroll saw.

Nice design & build. I like the idea of dual-purpose furniture.
