That is really nice work, I love the segmented glue-up and great colors. Did you carve the lines by hand to make the final texture?

That is cool. It’s like a double barrel rattle. That will be a conversation piece 20 years from now.

Nice rattle, can’t imagine how it rings though. Is that spring loose or secured inside?

Thanks, all. The lines were carved with a dremel, the edges of the grooves were then rounded over with sanding sticks and sandpaper. The springs are not loose, I carved a slot for the base of each spring and glued them in with epoxy.

9×9, the springs ring as the BBs inside bang against them as the rattle is shaken.
