this is my first attempt at a cutting board. it is made from maple and walnut. made it for my wife for valentines day. of course she say’s it is to big and to heavy. it is 9” x 15” +/-. wonder what she will say when i bring in the butcher block that i’m making for her if she thinks that the board is heavy.

good for a first attempt but may I offer a suggestion.. a slim piece of walnut between the centre stips of maple would set this off.

Yup , I’d rip it down the middle to get rid of that glue line and throw a thin accent strip in its place instead. Nice job overall : )
