The Wood Whisperer (Marc Spagnuolo) posted the plans for this castle/bookcase several weeks ago and I built it for my great-granddaughters (ages 1,3,and 5). They are into princesses and Disney type castles, so I took liberties with Marc’s design and added the tower and flags. Also modified the drawbridge design a bit. The kids will get it for Christmas.
My wife and I chose the lavender color for the little girls and the paint job took longer than the construction. The brickwork was done with a stencil and airbrush.
The project was part of a drive to support Woodworkers Fighting Cancer 2016.

Great job – (but I suspect that this will be used more as a doll house than a bookcase. With the popularity of e-readers and tablets, do kids today even know what books are?) I’m sure they will love it – towers and flags are a nice touch. Thanks for posting.
