My local wood store, WoodWorkers Source, occasionally hosts a free woodworking contest to encourage young & old woodworkers to display some of the their skill. The subject of this contest was trays, servers, and trivets. While looking for inspiration for this project, I came across a simple wine server with metal legs on pinterest. As I was prototyping the design, I found the original orientation of legs was unstable and could easily tip over. I rearranged the leg positioning, among a few other adjustments, and came up with what you see.

It was a great deal of fun to build and will be even funner to use.

Finished with several coats of General Finishes High Performance water based gloss topcoat.

It looks great. well re-designed and functional. I do think the wine choice seems a little wooden though!
