Beautiful frame – nice tight miter joints and good use of the wood’s natural figure.
Beautiful painting – good use of color and pattern, with well balanced composition.
I hope you won’t mind some constructive criticism:
I checked out your other frames and painting projects and in my opinion, this frame and this painting do not belong together – the colors of the wood do not offer enough contrast to the colors in the painting, and the figure in the wood tends to compete with the texture of the painting. A darker frame with less figure would really make those colors pop. This frame belongs on a darker painting (more greens and browns and golden yellows like the Alder frame from 2015 with the cross stitch farm scene.). A perfect excuse for both of you to continue doing what you love – her painting and you building in the woodshop. :)
Just my opinion, Keep up the great work and keep working together. Thanks for posting.

Agree with Leafherder, although I believe a white frame would compliment your wife’s beautiful painting.
Have your say...
