Here is the first of two bedside tables I’m building for our room. We designed it using Google Sketchup, then did a little ad-libbing in the shop. I used blondwood ply for the shelves and mostly pine for the frame. The legs ended up being the most expensive part because I wanted them 1”x1.5”, and Lowes was gouging the hobbiest for pieces at those dimensions. The second unit I am using a 2×4 that I’ve ripped down. It’s nice when you can find pieces you are looking for in the wood laying around the shop.
The drawer was built up using the 1/2 inch ply on the bottom and 1/4 inch pine for the sides with side mounted rails. I stained the bedside table with Jacobean and then added two coats of poly.
Enjoy!
