This Piece, a Coffee Table, was machine carved. However the art work and designing has been done by hand. I went to Ghana, Africa this past March and visited my sister and her husband, Fred who is a chain saw mechanic. I visited them because I needed wood to ship to Cleveland for my projects and Fred had been the source of most of the Mahogany I have used. He told me he dose not have any good wood around and what is left is only for firewood.I checked the wood and selected 10 pieces which I transported to my house. Next, I ask him to come with a chain saw and help me, after I had studied the wood and sketched my designs . It took us about a week to do the rough work. I told Fred I will do the rest in Cleveland. I have been working steadily on my mahogany furniture. This is the fourth one I have completed it has not been an easy journey as the wood was not cut with purpose. Pictures will soon be popping out.

Beautiful piece of wood. Just my opinion, the cross pattern on the edge detracts the beauty of the mahogany. Be sure not to lose Fred!
Have your say...
