I made this bandsaw box to be raffled as a fund-raiser at the annual homecoming reunion in my hometown in northwestern Pennsylvania. The flag pin marks the location. Inside is lined with the traditional school colors.

I was inspired to make this box after I saw pictures of friends wearing t-shirts with a heart marking the location and a caption, “this is where my story begins” People who grew up in small towns will understand the sentiment.

The lidded box is made of Cherry and maple, two trees growing in abundance in this part of Pennsylvania.

I have attached a couple of photos showing the glue up and the lid structure. I used the top slice of the core glued to the lid to keep the lid aligned.

Nice box. If you know how my country Croatia looks like it would be to difficult to make my ’’country box’’.

Awesome box. Im trying to figure out if the pin is marking Clarion or Marienville? I’m from Pittsburgh, but spend lots of time up that way, near the Canadohta Lake/Union City area.

Love the Box, Great work!

Croatia is a complicated shape with irregular outlines, but a box could be made in any shape.
Check my gallery. I made a box in the shape of Italy including Sicily.

Tooch, Marenville is closer to correct. The center of the pin is northern Elk County, town of Johnsonburg.

Triviasteve, I posted two new pictures showing dimensions of this box. It can be cut out of a block that is 4”X7”X3” or whatever size you want.
