I made this headboard out of pine and birch ply. I added LED strip lighting to the underside of the top for reading in bed purposes. From start to finish it took me eight weekends. The face-frame is joined together with biscuits, and then glued onto the plywood backing. This is then pocket-hole screwed to the legs. Store bought mouldings are mitred into place and the top is glued on. Three coats of polyurethane varnish for the finish. It’s based off plans from Jon Peters' website.

Nicely done. I really like the LED lighting – that is a great touch. The natural poly finish is also a great touch. I am a big fan of a simple finish like that. Keep up the good work!

Very nice! I really like the lighting! I may try to make one that is similar out of oak. I hope you don’t mind..

Looks fantastic! I was going to do the LED lighting too! I’m still trying to draw up a design. Great work.
