Hi, LJ’S I have still not left the shores of Sri Lanka to set sail as stated my last posting. I will be off by end of the week. Meanwhile, I thought I should mention that.- My project about the “Gift in haste” I posted, which I tried my hands on. Got me started, with Dan Walters pushing me to try my hands further, to reproduce woodcut copies and thereafter commissioned me to make a few more. (Seen above). The money I will receive will come just in good time, as I need all I can muster for the Voyage ahead.
Thanks Dan. Hope you got more work for me when I get back. (if you are happy with my work, remember, you did not want it finished.
Shall try to keep you guy’s posted.

Wow Dan Your commissioning other LJ’s do do work for you. Great for both of you.

Enjoy your travels…..and always be safe…..I hope you have a good camera and will shoot us some pics of your ports of call. It will be a wonderful way to see other cultures…other environments….and experience them fully….I did some racing….and a lot of cruising when I was younger…and it was an experience I will enjoy for as long as I am alive…I envy your adventure and the wonderful opportunities it presents.

stay tuned for a blog … plan is to add more detail, sand a bit, finish and use them for masters for tile molds.
Always experimenting ... trying a new technique where the mold is made from rubber and and tile casting will be made from concrete, resins or some other material.
carvings are made from Sri Lanka mahogany. Much more dense and crisp then the African or Honduran varieties, almost like cocobolo

Nice carving. I like all of them, but especially the house.

-- I've never seen a tree that I wouldn't like to repurpose into a project. I love the smell of wood in the morning - it smells like victory.
