Bunk Beds to Bench

I made these benches from two bunk beds, but just not any ole bunk beds. These bunk beds, was what my Sister and I grew up with when we was kids. I found these up at my Grandfathers place after my Dad died. He had kept these, so I re-purposed them into the benches. I made the Brown one first, and then made the Hunter Green one.

I cut the foot-boards in half, then attached them with screws, using the Kreg Pocket Screw jig. For the slats, on the brown one I used some pallet boards and on the green one, I used some popular scraps.

I used these as a kid for sleeping and now use them for sitting, some 40 years later. Well I get to used them some times, when my Cats let me. LOL
