Corner Cabinet, Phase 2

Phase 2 consists of shelves and a drawer for the corner cabinet. Shelves are a basic plywood affair with poplar edging, and painted with milk paint, like the rest of the cabinet. The drawer is built with half-blind dovetails, my first. I used a combination of hand tool and power tool techniques. They could be nicer, but I’m happy with the results given my experience level. I thought the wood grain of the pre-finished plywood drawer sides would contrast nicely with the rest of the cabinet.
I put teak runners on the drawer sides to run in matching teak channels in the cabinet. The drawer sides extend past the back of the drawer to give a “full extension” effect that, when opened, works pretty well. The action is not terrible, but not terribly smooth either. Hopefully it will get better as it wears in.
