The jewelry box is based on a design first posted by SPalm (http://lumberjocks.com/projects/57088). I modified the design in several ways. First, I increased the size to 12” x 6” x 6 1/2” , increased the number of pivoting drawers to six, each with a magnet to insure firm closure and added a bottom tray. I also added two maple leaf inlays on the top of the cover.

I haven’t seen the the piece that inspired it. But I like your rendition a lot. Do you have any pics from the build process? My wife has a new jewelry box on my short list of projects.

Way to go Roger. That looks great.
And nice mods. I especially like the divided drawers. Very clever.
Steve
Edit: the link you supplied to the original box is goofy – it should not have the final parenthesis in the hyper link.

That a real great piece of work Roger, lots of drawer space and like the leaf inlays. Pic 2 shows the similarity to Steve’s original box. What does Steve means by his box being goofy, it looks great to me.

Wow! Awesome compartments and overal concept of drawers opening. Those leafs on tops are very good match to it.

Serious amount of time spent over a 10,000+ RPM mincer!
Beautifully executed!
