My daughter got a new bed with drawers, so a conventional nightstand would not work. The wife and daughter started thinking and before you know it Dad has a project.
Sophia added LED lights, she is happy and they turned out well.
Used a French cleat to mount on the wall.

Just got done with beds for two of my children. I may be borrowing your idea. My thanks to your wife and daughter for the project. :)

I like it.
I think a “floating box” with drawers would keep things more organized but the wide open space sure makes it easy to throw bigger objects into it (ones that may not fit in a drawer). However if it was my daughter she would have it filled with clutter in less than a day…....good luck with yours.
Nice build.

Very easy scrap 1×4, and the case is 2ft x 4ft piece of Home Depot cabinet grade ply with rabbiited ends, the plywood edges were covered by leftover pine cut to match the plywood thickness.
It’s a fun project and your kids can paint them.
