I have just completed making these two side tables made from Hard Maple and Jarrah.

They measure 520mm wide x 300mm deep x 460mm high. The finish is Hard Shellac which has been rubbed back with #000 synthetic steel wool and Traditional Wax.

I think they look great. The finish has a nice even sheen and a very smooth tactile feel about it.

I made a couple of youtube videos showing how I went about making the side tables because my client has enjoyed the work in progress pics I have done for him in the past.

Part 1 (shaping the legs and joinery between jarrah beam and legs) –

Part 2 (profiling the edges, sanding, polishing) –

Any comments or feedback is most welcome. Thanks :D

Beautifuil, simple but yet, very demanding design.

Oh, now that’s a COOL design. Love the legs and how you put it all together. Might have to steal that. Really like it!!

Thanks guys. Although it wasn’t a difficult build by any means. It did seem easier to build in my head than it was in the shop.
