I made this Cherry four drawer filing cabinet to replace the crappy metal one that I am happily throwing out.
This cabinet is solid Cherry, with Maple drawers and Mahogany drawer fronts.
The case and drawers are all dovetailed, and the drawer bottoms and cabinet back are all tongue & groove Oak.
I was fortunate enough to get one large Mahogany board big enough to use for all the drawer fronts. I love the way the grain runs throughout each.
I added a little sass by using a Steam Punk theme design for the drawer pulls, and then painted them jet black with brass screws.
The drawer guides are smooth operating Kosta Novas.
I finished the cabinet in Boiled Linseed Oil with one coat of Polyurethane.
It measures about 42” high x 18” wide x 22” deep.
And it weighs a ton.
It was a fun but challenging project and I hope this cabinet outlasts me.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Wow, Eric, that is awesome!

Love those dovetails. Really cool drawer pulls! You might have to market them!!

What an improvement. I have always hated those metal ones. The good ones are functional but ugly. The cheap ones are just ugly.
Yours on the other hand will be not only a joy to use but beautiful to boot!

Nice work Eric

Very Nice Eric, though I am surprised you didn’t make your own drawer pulls. :)

Below are the handles I made for my shop cabinets.

That’s a brute of a set of drawers, Eric, I don’t detect a speck of femininity. What are you stowing in those things, auto parts?..........(-:
