Hello everyone,
This is my first post on here and I’m glad to be here. So this is my first attempt at a four cornered winged bowl. I bought this wood in Seattle about ten years ago and finally used it for something. So the name on the wood was African Linga…I tried looking it up but didn’t find it…anyone out there ever heard of this type of wood?

Welcome to Lumberjocks! That is a beautiful bowl, but I am not familiar with the wood. Thanks for posting.

That’s funny you posted about the limba…as it happens I bought some black limba at the same time as the “linga”. I have worked them both and they are definitely not the same type…a mystery it remains. Thanks for the welcome!

That is impressive piece!
I like the looks, the drooping four corners, the color, the grain, and the wood!

Oh yes, welcome too!
