Project Information

Picked this up for free on the UWS of Manhattan. One of the leg's dowels was broken; it had to be drilled out and replaced. Only the top was stripped and refinished. It required light sanding, some wipe-on poly, and a finish wax with 0000 steel wool. The legs were restained with Minwax Ebony stain, and then waxed with 0000 steel wool as well. All the legs had to be reglued both into the octagonal skirt and the center nub that sits near the floor (fourth image).

Enjoy!

Beautiful restauration. It would be a waste if this was trashed or set to fire.

Wonderful piece. Good that you could restore it so nicely.
