This is two bible boxes my wife and I made for my nephews when they were married. The first is down the left column of pictures and the second is down the right column. The wood is walnut salvaged from a staircase. I got if froma Craig’s List guy who had been in a motorcycle accident and was unable to do woodworking anymore. Sad situation so I didn’t quible over the price. WoodRat dovetails, pure tung oil finish. I think I should have sanded more before applying the finish and boy, look at the glue lines. None of these flaws are as visible in real life, I hope. I do love the figure in the walnut though.

Nice pair of boxes. Loce that walnut. Great design and build.

Keep it up.

Nice job. Regarding your comment on the glue lines though – remember, we all tend to be our own worst critics – Having high standards is part of being a craftsman.
