This is my first small box made with hand cut dove tails, I definitely need some practice. The sides are figured Maple, the lid frame is Walnut and the top and bottom panel is Birds Eye Maple. My goal was to use only hand tools but I ended up re-sawing the stock to expedite the project in time for Christmas. Its finished with boiled linseed oil and then waxed.

Very nice. Hand cutting the dovetails is very satisfying… yes, they can be mischievous, but otherwise enjoyable.

A very nice box. Hope you don’t mind if I make a similar one.
