I play an EWI. That is, an Electronic Wind Instrument. It is an electronic version of a saxophone. You blow in the end of it and press the keys as if you were playing a real saxophone, and the synthesizer makes it sound like any instrument you want. Anyway, there’s a lot of stuff to carry around to rehearsals and gigs.

This case is for an EWI5000 instrument. It has a built-in synthesizer and a wireless output to a remote receiver. The case houses the receiver, amplifier, speakers, a rather stout battery, and battery charging circuitry.

I went with a more traditional case compared to my earlier instrument cases. This design is much smaller and lighter, though perhaps lest robust. I also chose to cover this case with Tolex rather than showing finished wood. I found that the nice finish on my previous instrument cases got pretty banged up after a while.

Very nice case, Ted. Do you have any shots of it in bare wood?

Cheers, Jim
