this is my first piece as a woodworker outside of construction. I used CHEAP pine which definitely made things difficult. As soon as I brought it home from the lumber yard, it warped out of control. The dimensions are 6’x8’x1’. There are some obvious flaws and it is a very large piece, but I’m mostly happy with it. I was surprised how well the joints came together. Over all this was a great learning experience. thank you lumberjocks. you provided me with enough education to accomplish this.

Very nice!!!! Did you use a plan or just “do it” as you went along?
What are the over all measurements, tall and wide? My wife needs a case like this.

I had a very basic plan which caused problems later in the project. I’ve already begun my next project by putting together a detailed plan on sketchup. the dimensions are 6’x8’x1’. I’ll have to edit that into my notes on the project. and thank you. I’m glad you like it.

If you thought this project was fun just wait until your next one. It’s amazing how well it goes when you have confidence. Good job. It’s not easy to build such a large project.

You know, with all those books in it, I can’t see anything wrong at all…... Like printman said, it’s not easy to build such a large project. Good job

Congratulations on your first build. Looks great and it looks like a welcome addition to your home. You will need another real soon from the looks of it!

That’s a big one. I built four so far 2 for my wood books and two for my wife’s medical ones.
Good project though.
