My wife loved this idea but every example I saw always was just lazily painted with the numbering and I thought it’d look awesome if each number and marker was individually cut out and adhered to the base.
The result was awesome.
Really fun project for a beginner like myself and a first for me on the scroll saw.

I just recently bought a wood burner and was all set to make one of these and burn in the numbers and dashes. Now I think I like the cut out letters better and may be going with your design instead. Thanks for causing a stress in my life this morning as now I have to choose.
Well done.

That was my first option when I started on this as well. After looking at all the other ones for sale that were either burned or painted, they all just looked so cheap. I recommend taking the time and cutting out the numbers. It really makes a huge difference.

My first with the scroll saw anyway, up till this I’ve been working mostly on bigger, clunky projects like benches/desks/planters, etc. Thank you for the kind words! I’ve made two of these now (for a family friend) and I am getting much faster with the scroll saw now.

Cool!
Here’s my attempt at sorta the same thing:

Flip side:

The rules & holes are laser cut in one pass with a cheap <$200 1600mw laser.
