This is a cedar box with maple handles that I made at a friends request. She has put together a scrap book (which is quite big) that is dedicated to her mothers days in the rodeo and will be a Mothers day present. The belt buckles on the lid are prizes that her mother won when riding in the the rodeo in South Dakota in 1959 and 1960. My friend wanted a box to put the scrap book in and also wanted some way to incorporate/display the belt buckles. The choice of cedar just seemed to fit with the theme, and it seemed to go well with the belt color. She hasn’t seen the box yet and doesn’t have any idea how I chose to display the buckles so I hope she likes it.

NOTE: These photos are displaying more red than I would have liked, but I guessing you’ll all get the idea. :)
