I put together a couple of barn wood picture frames for a friend to display some posters. I planed the boards down to remove the grey wood and show more of the character of the wood. Then I finished the wood with a clear coat.

-- Work- helping fill out my workshop but giving me no time to use my toys.

Nice frames. I love it planed down over the weathered look. There is so much hidden character especially when you don’t plane it down too far.

I save old cedar fence pieces for making similar frames because I don’t have any barns to salvage any more.
You did a nice job not destroying the aged appearance.
